Happy Cad-nada d-Day!

No, not a typo, just my best effort at replicating my son's jubilant expressions on Canada Day this past weekend.

In preparation for the holiday, I had been pointing at Canadian flags and saying "Canada" or "Canada Flag". Daigoro picked up on it soon enough, and by the time we visited a nearby park for the festivities on Sunday, July 1st, he was able to point at flags and announce proudly "Cad-nada!"

When a volunteer gave me a small Canada flag "lapel pin" (though who exactly uses them on lapels anymore, I don't know) he examined it closely and beamed "Cad-nada!".

He had the opporunity to sit in a firefighting pumper truck and use a firefigher's special flashlight (all smiles) as well become the proud owner of a pint-sized plastic firefighter's helmet. Later he chowed down on an adult-sized hot dog (eating about a fifth of it) and ran about gleefully in the park with a balloon-sword from a friendly clown.

Kenshin has started biting (well, "gumming", but I'm sure it's pretty painful in any case) while feeding with Marli. Hopefully he won't be bad as Daigoro was, but Marli is pretty sure he will be as bad or worse.
